Genesys Make a Difference’Tis the season for caring, and Genesys is grateful to have been able to participate in efforts around the world via our Make a Difference program to assist refugees, flood victims, people who are food-insecure, and the homeless. We’re excited to finish our year of giving with our North Pole Hotline.

This holiday hotline provides news and weather reports from the North Pole from a Genesys Self-Service Interactive Voice Response (IVR). Kids (and kids at heart) are encouraged to call in to find out if they’ve been naughty or nice. And just in case you haven’t been able to mail your letter to Santa yet, the hotline also allows you to leave a direct message for him. On Christmas Eve, the hotline will have hourly updates about Santa’s location. The hotline can be reached toll-free in the US at 800-760-1406 or at 415-366-8746 for San Francisco Bay Area callers.

The North Pole Hotline will have particular significance for families at the San Francisco-based Raphael House, a privately-funded residential shelter and services program that serves more than 300 families each year. When resident kids leave their wish lists, Genesys and Raphael House will help Santa fulfill those wishes by funding the presents and leaving them wrapped up under the shelter’s Christmas tree.

Watch the North Pole Hotline make Bryanna, who is currently living at Raphael House, smile:

Child staying at Raphael House calls SantaThe kids at Raphael House got to call Santa to tell him what they want for Christmas, thanks to our friends at Genesys who set up a special North Pole hotline. The North Pole Hotline is just one of the programs by Genesys Make a Difference—an employee-driven, grassroots program that helps local communities by offering employees paid volunteer hours and encouraging individual and company-sponsored donations. The Make a Difference program focus areas for giving are health, youth & education, the environment, and community action. Our charter is to provide opportunities for all Genesys employees to come together to Make A Difference in the local community by offering our time, energy and goodwill to others.

habitatSince our launch in 2007, over 1,000 employees have participated in activities. We have provided over 6,500 hours of time to the communities where we work and live. Make a Difference has distributed over $600,000 through corporate donations and employee fundraising.

Here are a few of the activities that Genesys and its employees were involved in 2015:

  • Providing three meals a day to an orphanage in Chennai, India, for a month
  • Donations and active participation to help refugees in Europe
  • A global food drive that resulted in five tons of food, $10,000 in cash, and 100-plus hours of volunteer time contributed
  • Habitat for Humanity projects at locations throughout North America
  • Volunteering at the San Francisco Food Bank warehouse
  • Serving dinners at the North Peninsula Food Pantry in the Bay Area
  • Hands-on volunteer work in all major Genesys locations

foodbankWe encourage our employees to participate in causes they’re passionate about and see the direct impact they have on their communities. Genesys Make a Difference is currently planning philanthropy efforts for 2016, and we look forward to continuing to help those who need it most.
